Holiday Camps for 2012

Memories start here.  And bring a sack lunch.

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Holiday Camp dates are December 26-28 and January 2-4 for the price of $100.00 per week per person. There all all levels of riding at the holiday camp, beginner through advanced. NEW for this year.....Pony Camp! There will also be two weeks of pony camp from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The dates for pony camp are also December 26-28 and January 2-4 at a coat of $75.00 per week per rider. And, our pony campers must be at from 4-7 years of age. Please no riders younger than 4 years of age and we ask parents to drop off and pick up their pony campers....no parents during pony camp. Make sure to pack a lunch everyday with plenty of fluids. We do have a soda machine on premise, but bring as much water as you want. Please bring weather appropriate attire. Bring an approved equestrian helmet; if you do not own one, you may rent one for $5.00 per week. Riding Booster packages available for an additional $100.00 per week for an extra hour of riding per day.

Summer Camps for 2013

Beginner Camp: The beginner camp is designed for those riders with little or no riding experience. All riders will ride one hour per day, as well as having lessons on horse handling techniques. Riders will learn basic control of the horse in the saddle of their choice; exercises in moving the horse forward and stopping, turning and circling, and riding the sitting and posting trot will be discussed. Participants will develop correct riding positions through guided explanations, exercise techniques and demonstrations. Riders will also learn horse management skills such as bandaging, clipping, basic first aid, and stable management. Riders will participate in a show on last day of camp. Beginner camp is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at a cost of $290.00 per rider. Available weeks: June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-June 28, July 8-12, July 15-19, an July 29-August 2.

Advanced Beginner Camp:  The advanced beginner camp is for those riders with some riding experience such as trail rides, or a small amount of lessons. This camp will enable riders to focus riding in the English saddle with a posting trot and an introduction to the working canter. This camp will continue to build on the skills of the skills learned in previous camps. This camp is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at a cost of $290.00 per person. Available weeks: June 10-14, June 17-21, July 8-12, and July 29-August 2.

Intermediate Camp: The intermediate camp is for those riders who have had prior group riding experience in the form of lessons, and must know how to walk, posting trot, and canter. All riders will continue to expand their knowledge and practice riding the gaits of the horse. Riders will also gain knowledge of the natural aids and their applications, as well as learning how to execute individual workouts. Lectures and demonstrations will be given in the areas of horse show presentation, driving, horse science, and advanced equine management. Intermediate camp runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at a cost of $290.00 per camper.  Available weeks: June 24-June 28, July 15-19 and July 22-26.

Advanced Camp:  The advanced camp is for those riders who want to fully explore the world of horsemanship. All riders will be able to ride in the saddle of their choice, but all riders will be exposed to the techniques of dressage, western, huntseat and saddleseat styles of riding. All riders will ride 2 hours per day. Trail rides will be explored as well. Further emphasis will be placed on horse show techniques and proper show ring presentation. Advanced camp runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at a cost of $290.00 per camper. Week of July 22-26.

Teen Camp: This camp is just for teens of 13 years and up of any riding ability. If you are looking for a week to make some really cool friends, learn some new riding skills, then this is your week. Campers will meet 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at a cost of $290.00 per camper. Available week: July 8-14.

Master Camp:  A special camp for those riders who want to tune up before the academy show at Belvidere.....this is the camp to go to if you want to show and be good at it! Riders will train with the top trainers during the week, trail ride, concentrate on patterns and equitation skills....and have the cleanest show equipment in the area! This is the ultimate week for advanced riders! Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please call for prices, as they vary if the camper is going to show or not. Available week: TBA

Pony Camp:  NEW!  If you have a little one from the ages of 5-8, come and join us for our first pony camp! This camp is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All riders will have pony rides for the first hour and then to the barn for grooming and brushing and learning all about the ponies and horses on the property. The third hour will have lunch and a special project of the day. The cost is $150.00 per rider per week...sign up early, as this class is limited to only 12 riders!  Dates are June 24-June 28,  July 15-19, and August 5-9, 2013. Please pack a sack lunch.

Sunscreen, bug spray, wipes are all other items you might want to pack with you. Just think of our camp as a long weekend and bring those items that will make you comfortable during your stay. And, no sandals or flip flops are allowed anywhere, so please leave those at home.:)
